Congratulations! You're the next contestant on "What Melissa Make?"
You better believe I meal prepped (the shit out of) those black bean burgers (with some sautéed mushrooms and onions, roasted potatoes, and steamed broccoli). Protein! Veggie! Carb!
Black bean burger, plus lettuce, tomato, and red onions, with avocado, spicy mustard, cilantro, sweet potato fries, and a homemade ketchup ((for that A++)).
((For an assignment, I had to soak a bag of beans.)) ((If you don't know how many beans that is -- it's a fucking lot.)) ((This isn't even half.)) First person to correctly guess what I'm making earns 20 points. ((Go!))
@nomadkravmaga gave me some nectarines last night. @nomadkravmaga said, "you should post them, and tag us in it." @nomadkravmaga said, "you can put 'em in a bowl or on a plate, or something." @nomadkravmaga suggested, "maybe some microgreens." @nomadkravmaga helps keep me sane, and safe, and sober, and strong, and slim ((man, -- thank you)). @nomadkravmaga doesn't ask for much in return.
Next lesson: make a nut butter you will not use, nor enjoy. ((Go!))
Melissa roasts carrots, rainbow carrots, and broccolini, in a lemon tahini dressing, finished with salt and pepper, tarragon, and cilantro. ((WhAAAT??))
Honestly have a little crush on these carrots. ((hey. wyd? u up? hey. hi. hi. hi. u up? wyd?))
Melissa (no-oil) sautés mushrooms (she cannot pronounce).
Mise en place is French for, “this is going to take awhile.”
Melissa prepares her broccoli for assignment ("you're going to do great, you know all the material, and I'll love you even if you mess up").
Melissa steams potatoes, impresses no one.
Meatless again today. Rice, veggies, and microgreens. ((No peas.))
“Use your chopped ingredients to make a recipe (provided).” ((Okay!))
First attempt at knife skills. Not great; not terrible. Not great.
Melissa knows for sure now, which one is a zucchini, and which one is a cucumber, so — Melissa is feeling pretty proud of herself today.
