Protein/Veggie/Carb: Tofu
Baked Tofu Recipe (by Forks Over Knives)
Ingredients
- 9-10 Pieces Firm Tofu (Approximately 1.5 Blocks; Drained, and Pressed)
- 5 Tbsp Low Sodium Tamari
- 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Liquid Smoke
- Freshly Ground Black Pepper
Directions
(Drain and press your tofu)
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
In a small bowl, combine the low sodium tamari, garlic powder, liquid smoke, and freshly ground black pepper.
Place sliced tofu in a shallow casserole dish, and pour the marinade over the tofu.
Allow to marinate for 10-20 minutes, turning to coat.
Using parchment paper (or a non-stick sheet pan), lay out tofu slabs evenly on baking tray.
Place the tray in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
Flip, and cook another 10-15 minutes, until the tofu is browned around the edges.
Remove, and let cool; store covered in the refrigerator to be used with other recipes.
